dumbeks with metal bodies Also spelled "Doumbek" or "Dumbec," this drum is named for the doum and bek sounds made by striking the center and near the rim. This is the traditional Middle Eastern bellydance drum, but it has become bopular in many different kinds of music today. Available with metal and ceramic bodies, this is perhaps the most versatile drum we carry.

The following dumbeks are examples of what we most often stock. However, sizes and colors can vary depending on what our supplier has available at any given time. We also get drums from different sources and often have other types of dumbeks not listed here (including handmade, handpainted ceramic drums). Contact us for our most current selection. Fiberglass Body Dumbeks

    This breakthrough design has a fiberglass body (15 inches tall) and a fixed synthetic head (10 inches diameter). Its deep "Doums" and high "Teks" will surprise you. Today people want to have their drums with them everywhere -- so Mid-East developed the Fiber Doumbek. Its revolutionary synthetic shell and head make it feather light, portable, durable, and easy to maintain. The look and sound is so close to its ceramic cousin, you will not believe it till you play it.
    Soft case included. Various colors are available, but stock is often limited. Let us choose a color for you based on current availability. "Sparkling" finishes are sometimes available for an additional charge.

    Small Aluminum Dumbek -- $34.95
    Lightweight, made in Turkey. 11.5-inch body, 6.5-inch head. Various engraving patterns. (Larger versions of these drums may be available, please inquire.)



    Alexandria-style Aluminum Dumbeks

    These are the choice of many professional players. Made in either Turkey or Egypt, they feature tuneable synthetic (mylar) heads with a smooth comfortable rim. Dimensions are approximately 17.5 inches by 11 inches.
