Also spelled "Doumbek" or "Dumbec," this drum is named for the doum and bek sounds made by striking the center and near the rim.
This is the traditional Middle Eastern bellydance drum, but it has become bopular in many different kinds of music today. Available with metal and ceramic bodies, this is perhaps the most versatile drum we carry.
Pictured at right: nickel and brass tunable goatskin head dumbeks from Pakistan.
The following dumbeks are examples of what we most often stock. However, sizes and colors can vary depending on what our supplier has available at any given time. We also get drums from different sources and often have other types of dumbeks not listed here (including handmade, handpainted ceramic drums). Contact us for our most current selection. Because these are imported items, prices are also subject to change without notice.
