Enoch Tradesman Banjos
Kevin Enoch, founder of Enoch instruments, has been involved in playing as
well as making banjos and other stringed instruments since 1984. Enoch
Instruments was formally established in 1990 in Beltsville, MD. Kevin's goal
is to create an instrument designed for clawhammer playing, embracing the
aesthetics of the great banjo makers of the early 20th century. Kevin's love
for the music, as well as his craft, is apparent in the degree of care and
precision he puts into every detail of these musical masterpieces. Enoch
banjos are played by Bruce Molsky, Dirk Powell and Bob Carlin, among others.
The Tradesman is a basic "no frills" (but not cheap) banjo. They are made
with high quality materials and workmanship. Necks are walnut or cherry,
with a small graphite rod for reinforcement. The neck's shape is designed to
be similar to some of the early Dobsons. The fingerboards are usually made
of ebony, although some may be of rosewood. The rims are multi-ply maple
with no tone ring and with black finish (12-inch pot). Both models come with
REMO "Renaissance" heads. Gig bag and a bracket wrench to adjust the head
tension are included. Half-Fretless and Flush-Fret Fretless models are also available. Scooped fingerboard and/or Nylgut strings can be added for an additional charge. (Contact us)
