Stagi 18-button mini, mahogany, gig bag included -- $569.00 Listed below

Jackie 30-button English treble concertina -- $395.00 Listed below

Miniature concertina

18-button English mini concertina

1.5 pounds, hexagonal, white plastic buttons, quality leather bellows have 10 folds in 2 sections of 5 each. Leather thumbstraps, and the same pinky straps on the other side. (instead of the metal pinky rest found on larger models) Two styles: mahogany with dark brown bellows or black finish with black bellows.

Featherweight and real cute, it's a great street performer's instrument. People are always amazed at the music you can make on this little squeezebox, because they think it's a toy instead of a real instrument.

It's almost like a "button pennywhistle" with 2 sharps and 1 flat, not quite fully chromatic like its big brothers; it is missing only G# and Eb. Plays in C, G, D, F, and the relative minors and Irish modal scales over a range of almost 2 octaves, from C to B. Very nice tone, quite loud despite its size.

Case not included.

This is a very popular item; we don't always have both colors in stock. Please indicate whether you are able to wait for your preferred selection, or whether we should just send whatever we have in stock now.

$569.00

Jackie 30-button English treble concertina -- $395.00

30 button student concertina

The Jackie concertina is designed and developed by The Concertina Connection, based in Washington state. They are manufactured in China, using partly European parts, and they are quality-checked multiple times by The Concertina Connection before shipping.

This is a great beginning concertina that is much higher-quality than other Chinese-made concertinas on the market. They feature a traditional riveted action, normally only found in expensive handmade instruments. 6-fold bellows, traditional thumb straps, accordion-type steel reeds. The Jackie is a treble (violin-range) instrument, fully chromatic. Black only, with white plastic buttons. Padded gig bag and tutorial written especially for this instrument are included!

The "Jack" baritone model is also available by special order, for the same price. Contact us.

30 button student concertina

30-button Stagi A30 student model English concertina
Hexagonal, 2.3 pounds, white plastic buttons. In mahogany or black finish with quality leather 6-fold bellows. Fully chromatic; the duplicate sharps and flats (enharmonics) found on the 48b English are trimmed down to just one of each. Range: first 2 and 1/2 octaves of a violin, just 1 octave less than the full-sized 48 key English treble. With case.

48-button Stagi A48-S English concertina (photo)
Treble deluxe model, 3.3 pounds, hexagonal, fancy carved mahogany or black lacquered ends, herringbone binding, 6-fold quality leather bellows, includes case. 3 and 1/2 octaves, same as low range of a violin. (highest note is C, lowest note is G)

Usually available at the same price in Tenor range. (highest note is F, lowest note is C) Tenor is a nice range for accompanying male voices. Lowest reeds are slower to respond, not as agile for fast dance tunes. Instruction books are written for treble range.

Stagi also makes one in Baritone range but we have not been happy with the reed response on these so we don't stock them. We can special order one, just be aware that the reeds are very sluggish and the instrument will not be returnable. Handmade reeds are also available for an additional charge; please contact us for availability and pricing. (no color choice, treble model only)

56b Stagi English Tenor-Treble
4 octave extended range (low note is C one octave below middle C, going up 4 octaves to same high C as treble model) Octagonal, mahogany with fancy binding, plastic buttons, 6-fold leather-covered bellows, includes hard case. A good range for classical music and song accompaniment in any vocal range. Sometimes available with black lacquered ends and metal buttons. Handmade reeds are also available for an additional charge; please contact us for availability and pricing.
