Violin and fiddle: all styles, all levels
Grammy nominee Andrea Hoag has taught fiddle and violin for over 30 years and has a unique, student-centered approach to teaching. A highly versatile musician, she teaches many styles. She has been on the teaching staff of numerous music camps, including Swannanoa Gathering and Ashokan Northern and Southern Weeks. Andrea is a graduate of a program in Folk Violin Pedagogy at Malungs Folk
College in Sweden.
Her major current project is Old Doors/New Worlds http://olddoors.org, a collaborative traditional music and dance project developing a film, a performance suite, and a Traveling Folk School. Andrea has toured widely around the U.S., and performs locally with Maggie Sansone; with Jody Marshall; with Hoag, Kelley, and Pilzer; and with a number of other ensembles. She's currently at work on a new Berntsons recording, and a duo EP with David Greely of the Mamou Playboys. Her recordings are on sale at the store:
