Bodhran, bones/spoons, and tinwhistle

Scott Morrison holds a B.S. in Music from Frostburg State University, with a double concentration in K-12 Music Education and Percussion Performance. He has been running his own music school called "Rimshots," based in Elkridge, MD, for nearly 15 years. In addition to giving bodhran, bones/spoons and tinwhistle workshops regularly at HMT, Scott has also taught at Appalachian Bluegrass in Catonsville, the Gaelic College in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and makes annual appearances at area Celtic festivals in MD, VA and PA.

Scott plays in the world beat band Big Blow and the Bushwackers and leads his own Scottish/Irish traditional ensemble called Dileab Phriseil. (Precious Heritage) Scott is a fluent Scottish Gaelic speaker and works part time as an online Gaelic instructor for the Atlantic Gaelic Academy and as a Gaelic phone interpreter for the Language Line Services. He also writes Gaelic poetry and sings traditional Gaelic songs which he is learning through his teacher Gillebride MacMillan.

Scott regularly gives group classes at HMT in bodhran, bones/spoons and tinwhistle. To stay informed about the class schedule, join our mailing list. Scott also offers private lessons at his home in Elkridge, MD. To inquire about private lessons, contact the lessons coordinator at lessons@hmtrad.com or 301-270-9090.
