Guitar, electric bass
Tim Smith has been teaching guitar for over 25 years, and has experience in styles ranging from jazz to rock to classical. He has degrees in jazz and classical performance. Tim teaches most styles of both electric and acoustic guitar, as well as electric bass. Students of all levels, from beginner through advanced, are welcome. Tim played for 4 years in New Orleans with artists such as the Funky Meters and George Porter, including 6 months on Bourbon St. at the "Famous Door." He has numerous recording credits, including John Wubbenhorst's "Facing East," and "Family Values" by J.D. and the Songs of Rhythms. Tim is also a talented composer and arranger. Among his many credits is the theme for the local TV show "Takoma Cafe." Tim currently heads the Timothy Smith Project, a local jazz fusion trio. (www.myspace.com/tksmithproject)
Private lessons are $20 per half hour and are held in Silver Spring, MD.
